The Cave

guide

Cave entrance is located at lat 82.4 lon 48.2. (X:-13155, Y:260776, Z: 13731)

You can bring tamed dinos into this cave as long as they're able to jump approximately 6 foundations high. It is recommended to bring a Rock Drake or Reaper, of which the Rock Drake is the better choice, due to its ability to glide and camouflage.

The entire cave is in the radiation zone, so ensure you are wearing a Hazard Suit.

One may find Helena note #30 in the Elemental Vault at 87.2, 46.6, on the ground at a small crossroad.

What You'll Be Dealing With

assembled from what lives in this cave 6
Heavy carnivoresGrabs and pinsArmour damageTorporSwarms
  • Aberrant Carnotaurus — Fast mid-size carnivore that closes distance quickly.
  • Aberrant Megalosaurus — As Megalosaurus: night-active, grabs and pins.
Daylight, and never splash damage at close range.
  • Aberrant Arthropluera — Its ranged acid attack damages armour directly, and destroyed pieces cannot be repaired.
Hide rather than Flak, with Fiber and Hide to repair. Kill it at range.
  • Aberrant Pulmonoscorpius — Torpor per hit, higher than almost anything its size, and it is fast.
Bug Repellant, and Stimulant for the hits that land anyway.
  • Seeker — Flies, and its screech drains stamina and applies torpor. Attracted to charge light, which is the thing you need for the Nameless.
Turn charge light down to its minimum radius rather than off — enough to keep Nameless away, not enough to call Seekers.
  • Nameless — Burrows and emerges in numbers, and keeps coming as long as you have no charge light. It is not a fight you win by killing them.
A charge pet — Featherlight, Glowtail, Bulbdog, Shinehorn — or a Charge Lantern. Without one they spawn continuously.
Not a threat: Dung Beetle, Featherlight, Glowbug
Each line above is a fact about the creature and its own in-game behaviour — attributed to this cave only because the cave contains it. It is not a walkthrough, and it does not claim to describe the layout or the route.
