- The Burrowbuck is a passive tame, so equip a full
Ghillie Suit, stay crouched, and sneak up behind it with kibble or
Rockarrots in your last hotbar slot. After each feeding it will burrow and reappear somewhere nearby so be prepared to track it down and repeat the process.

Every number in this card is at official 1× rates, with the fastest food. Taming speed and food consumption multipliers change all of it, and most servers are not on official — the calculator at the top of this tab takes your rates, a Sanguine Elixir, and every other food this creature will eat.
Effectiveness is what decides the bonus levels: every unit of food eaten costs a slice of it, so the food that needs the fewest units finishes at the highest level. That is why kibble is worth the trouble — not that it is much faster, but that it is fewer feedings.

traps, methods & egg runsThe Burrowbuck is a passive tame that requires patience, stealth, and misdirection. To optimize your taming approach and avoid scaring it, bring the following:
•
Ghillie Armor: A full set is mandatory to minimize its aggro range.
•
Cactus Broth: Highly recommended to make you practically invisible to the creature.
•
Bug Repellant: (Optional but helpful) provides an extra stealth buffer if you are worried about nearby predators.
• Taming Food: Pack plenty of
Superior Kibble (fastest/most effective) or
Rockarrots (easy to farm) in your last hotbar slot.
First, you must find a Burrowbuck wandering out in the open. Second, once you find one, put on your Ghillie Suit, drink your Cactus Broth, and place the Kibble or Rockarrots in the last slot of your hotbar. Then proceed to crouch-walk very slowly from behind or from a distance of about 30 meters and feed it when prompted. After feeding it, it will instantly burrow and pop up somewhere nearby. Track its movements using your active taming panel or visual cues, and repeat the process until fully tamed. (Pro-Tip: The Burrowbuck will always jump in the direction you are looking immediately after it is fed. You can use this to your advantage to corner it against a cliff or wall, so it has nowhere to run.)
Important Warnings
Avoid running: Sprinting or approaching too quickly will scare the Burrowbuck, causing it to attack with a jump-kick that blinds you and buries itself.
Clear the area: Ensure any nearby aggressive predators are dead. If a wild predator aggros near your taming target, the Burrowbuck will spook and despawn temporarily.

Abilities
what it does and how you trigger it
- Melee Primary attack
The Burrowbuck bites while moving for 19 damage or swipes its antlers while standing still for 24 damage. A target hit by the antlers will receive the Antler Strike debuff.
5 stamina · 0.67s cooldown - Cloak / Burrow Secondary attack
The Burrowbuck creates a burrow, hiding hole, or pit trap. After digging the burrow, the Burrowbuck and its rider will receive Dirt Camouflage. Nearby targets will also be Blinded.
- Jump Jump
The Burrowbuck jumps, applying Blinded to nearby targets. It can be used again in mid-air to perform a double jump. You can also hold the button to aim the direction of the jump and reach higher and further.

Burrows
When mounted on a Burrowbuck, you can access and cycle through three unique underground structures:
Gateway: Creates a teleportation network across the map. You can place up to 6 of these. They have a 1 hour decay timer, which automatically resets each time a player uses them.
Hidey Hole: Creates a small, underground bunker/room for you to safely rest inside. The underground hole is quite small. But, you can fit structures like beds, storage boxes, generators, and
Cryofridges inside, but it cannot accommodate massive items like
Industrial Forges or
Tek Replicators. You cannot place turrets directly inside the underground bunker, though you can place a generator to power external turrets placed on the surface outside the hole. The Hidey-Hole auto-decays in 2 days, though entering it resets the timer in single-player or on most servers.
Important Warnings
In multiplayer servers, enemy players can find and enter your hole. Furthermore, a few explosives (around 7 C4s ) can destroy the hole, resulting in the loss of any structures and making tames inside appear where the entrance existed. All loot bags from structures from a destroyed bunker can be recovered as they just float in the mesh where the burrow used to be, making a new burrow that intercepts with that area allows collection of the loot bags.
Pitfall Trap: Lays a camouflaged trap on the ground that collapses when enemies or medium-sized predators walk over it, blinding and dismounting them.
