method, in orderStep by step
- Brew
Beer Jars — it takes several, and while
Stimberries technically work they are too slow to be worth carrying. - Put a
Beer Jar in the last slot of your hotbar and feed it. Ghillie Armour and approaching from behind make the walk-up safer. - Wait out the gap between feeds: it only takes the next jar once it is hungry again, several minutes later.
Also true
- The beer is strictly a courtship gift — a tamed one eats berries like any other herbivore.
Holding it still
That's the full list — nothing else immobilizes a Chalicotherium, per the game's own immobilizer table (drag weight 300).

Every number in this card is at official 1× rates, with the fastest food. Taming speed and food consumption multipliers change all of it, and most servers are not on official — the calculator at the top of this tab takes your rates, a Sanguine Elixir, and every other food this creature will eat.
Effectiveness is what decides the bonus levels: every unit of food eaten costs a slice of it, so the food that needs the fewest units finishes at the highest level. That is why kibble is worth the trouble — not that it is much faster, but that it is fewer feedings.
