A wild Iguanodon starts at 250 health and 100% melee damage. Its drag weight is 125, which decides what can carry it. The saddle engram unlocks at level 30. Killing one gives 1 base XP.

Taming food: Simple Kibble, Archelon Algae, Crops, Fresh Tea Leaves, Fresh Barley, Fresh Wheat, or Soybean, Dried Wheat, Mejoberry, Berries. Torpor drains at 0.3 per second once it is unconscious.

Breeding: lays an egg, incubating in 1h 25m, and the baby matures in 1d 22h 17m with 5 imprints available. The egg needs 24–28°C to incubate . Mating cooldown runs 18h to 2d.

Immobilised by: Bola, Bear Trap, Large Bear Trap, Plant Species Y.

Best at gathering: Berries, Rare Mushroom, Bio Toxin, Thatch, Rare Flower.

How You Get One

method, in order
Knockout Tranquilise it, then feed it. The calculator below works out how many darts, how much food and how long, at your server's rates.

Holding it still

BolaThrow it, it's stuck for 30 seconds. Carry a stack — you'll miss.
Bear TrapPlace it, kite the creature over it. Holds long enough to get darts in.
Large Bear TrapSame idea as the Bear Trap, sized for the big stuff. Bait it into walking over one.
Plant Species YA grown trap plant — snares whatever triggers it. Handy where you can't place structures.

That's the full list — nothing else immobilizes a Iguanodon, per the game's own immobilizer table (drag weight 125).

Every number in this card is at official 1× rates, with the fastest food. Taming speed and food consumption multipliers change all of it, and most servers are not on official — the calculator at the top of this tab takes your rates, a Sanguine Elixir, and every other food this creature will eat.

Effectiveness is what decides the bonus levels: every unit of food eaten costs a slice of it, so the food that needs the fewest units finishes at the highest level. That is why kibble is worth the trouble — not that it is much faster, but that it is fewer feedings.

Torpor drains at 0.3 per second while it is unconscious, so on a long tame you will need Narcotic to keep it down. The calculator works out how much.
