How You Get One

method, in order
Special Passive, but you feed it plankton rather than food from your inventory.

Step by step

  1. Find a swarm of small fish or micro-organisms in the ocean.
  2. Lure the swarm to a Megachelon and keep it there.
  3. Swim alongside the turtle while it filter-feeds on the swarm. The taming bar fills from the swarm, not from you.

Also true

  • Torpor-immune. It also carries a full building platform on its back once tamed, which is what makes the trouble worth it.

Torpor

  • This creature is torpor-immune to conventional tranquilisers. Darts, arrows and Narcotics will not drop it, so the torpor figures elsewhere on this page describe its stat, not a route to taming it.

Holding it still

Large Bear TrapSame idea as the Bear Trap, sized for the big stuff. Bait it into walking over one.

That's the full list — nothing else immobilizes a Megachelon, per the game's own immobilizer table (drag weight 3000).
