Knockout Tranquilise it, then feed it. The calculator below works out how many darts, how much food and how long, at your server's rates.

Holding it still

Chain BolaFired from a Ballista or Harpoon Launcher. Grounds flyers and pins them where they land.
Large Bear TrapSame idea as the Bear Trap, sized for the big stuff. Bait it into walking over one.
Plant Species YA grown trap plant — snares whatever triggers it. Handy where you can't place structures.

That's the full list — nothing else immobilizes a Pachyrhinosaurus, per the game's own immobilizer table (drag weight 200).

Every number in this card is at official 1× rates, with the fastest food. Taming speed and food consumption multipliers change all of it, and most servers are not on official — the calculator at the top of this tab takes your rates, a Sanguine Elixir, and every other food this creature will eat.

Effectiveness is what decides the bonus levels: every unit of food eaten costs a slice of it, so the food that needs the fewest units finishes at the highest level. That is why kibble is worth the trouble — not that it is much faster, but that it is fewer feedings.

Torpor drains at 3.5 per second while it is unconscious, so on a long tame you will need Narcotic to keep it down. The calculator works out how much.

The Pachyrhinosaurus releases Calm Pheromones, also known as camo or hidden mode, lasts for 20 seconds. Any medium size creatures up to Allosaurus completely ignores the Pachyrhinosaurus that released the pheromones. Even if the Pachyrhinosaurus attacks anything affected by the pheromones doesnt seems to react (However, if the rider attacks they could attack back sometimes).

  • Rage40px Special 1

The Pachyrhinosaurus releases Rage Pheromones that lasts for 20 seconds. Any medium sized creatures up to Allosaurus will attack the Pachyrhinosaurus that released the pheromones. These pheromones don't make the Pachyrhinosaurus the center of attention, just another target (creatures may still attack other nearby creatures/objectives). Even if the creature is usually passive, it will attack the Pachyrhinosaurus with some exceptions like Moschops or babies. If these pheromones are released with non-allied players nearby they will have blurred vision during the duration of the pheromones.
