How You Get One

this creature is not tamed
Crafted Not a creature you tame — a machine you build.

Also true

  • Assembled from an engram at a Tek Replicator rather than found in the world, which is why it has no taming data of any kind.

How It Is Built

Craft Craft an Unassembled Mek at a Tek Replicator, then use the item to assemble the Mek. The engram costs 38 engram points.

Fuel

not food
Element Element is fuel, not food. Active abilities — firing, hovering — burn it, and an idle Mek still needs Element in it: left empty it slowly deteriorates until it is destroyed. This is the closest thing it has to a food stat, and it is why a Mek is a commitment rather than a tame you park.

Modules

one slot, so the module is the loadout 4
M.S.C.M. Mek Siege Cannon Module
Arms the Mek with a long-range siege cannon, fired one shell at a time.
Ammunition
This is the weapon that makes a Mek a siege engine, and the same ordnance that knocks out a Rock Elemental or a Titanosaur.
M.R.L.M. Mek Rocket Launcher Module
Arms the Mek with a wide-reaching swarm-fire rocket launcher.
Ammunition
Barrage rather than single-target — it covers an area where the siege cannon picks one thing.
M.D.S.M. Mek Deployable Shield Module
Deploys a large dome shield that reduces damage to everything inside it.
Ammunition
None. It is not a weapon.
The support pick: one Mek shields the group while the others carry the offensive modules.
M.O.M.I. MegaMek Operational Materialization Interface
Enables the MegaMek fusion, and doubles as the Mek's saddle armour.
Ammunition
None. It is not a weapon.
Needs three more Meks nearby to transform, and will not operate outside range of the Alpha King Titan.
Each module's effect and ammunition are stated by its own in-game item description. Equipping or unequipping one reduces its durability.

What It Is For

  • Titan fights, and the King Titan encounter specifically — Meks are what Extinction's engram tree is pointing at.
  • Base destruction with the sword attack.
  • Hauling, on the strength of its weight stat.

Upkeep

  • It has a Self-Repair option: passive health regeneration that pauses while it is piloted and resumes about 8 seconds after you get out.
  • No saddle is required or possible — the M.O.M.I. module occupies the armour slot instead.
The stats above come from the game's own tables like every other page: a Mek has real health, weight and melee numbers, which is why it is in the roster at all.

Active
  • Slash Primary attack

The Mek slashes the target with its sword for 300 damage.

    50 stamina · 0.67s cooldown
  • Aim charge secondary

The Mek aims at the direction of the camera with its left arm gun. This action enables the shoot attack.

  • Shoot Left click
[[File:Fuel.png|20px]] 10%

The Mek shoots its gun two times for 315 damage each shot. This action consumes 10% of fuel per use.

    0.35s cooldown
  • Jet Boots Hold Space
[[File:Fuel.png|20px]] 0.25% per second

The Mek uses its jet boots to hover over the terrain. This action heats the Mek's structure with its use, the heat speed is based on the Mek's hover speed. This action consumes 0.25% of fuel per second of use.

    50 stamina
Passive
  • Self-Repair

The Mek has a Enable Self-Repair option on its radial menu, this allows the passive Health regeneration like other common "tames" with a similar recovery rate. This effect pauses if the Mek has an operator inside and it will resume 8 seconds after the operator left the Mek's cabin.

Passive

Most of the Mek's actions needs Fuel. Every assembled Mek starts with 100% of fuel, but this can also be refilled using Element inside its inventory.

An indicator of how much fuel the Mek has appears on its operator's UI.

Whenever the Mek uses its jet boots to hover its structure starts to heat, if that heat reaches the 100% the Mek will stop to hover and fall. The heat for hovering depends of how quick the Mek is hovering.

An indicator of how heat the Mek has on its structure appears on its operator's UI.
