A wild Oviraptor starts at 140 health and 100% melee damage. Its drag weight is 40, which decides what can carry it. Killing one gives 2 base XP.

Taming food: Special Egg (See Extraordinary Kibble), Extra Large Egg (See Exceptional Kibble), Large Egg (See Superior Kibble), Medium Egg (See Regular Kibble), Small Egg (See Simple Kibble), Extra Small Egg (See Basic Kibble), Giganotosaurus Egg, Quetzal Egg. Torpor drains at 0.208 per second once it is unconscious.

Breeding: lays an egg, incubating in 1h 8m, and the baby matures in 21h 2m with 2 imprints available. The egg needs 26–30°C to incubate . Mating cooldown runs 18h to 2d.

Immobilised by: Bola, Bear Trap, Plant Species Y.

Drops on death: Raw Meat, Hide.

Quirks

  • See Kibble recipes for specific eggs that can be used in ASA. Note that times can vary between eggs.

Holding it still

BolaThrow it, it's stuck for 30 seconds. Carry a stack — you'll miss.
Bear TrapPlace it, kite the creature over it. Holds long enough to get darts in.
Plant Species YA grown trap plant — snares whatever triggers it. Handy where you can't place structures.

That's the full list — nothing else immobilizes a Oviraptor, per the game's own immobilizer table (drag weight 40).

Every number in this card is at official 1× rates, with the fastest food. Taming speed and food consumption multipliers change all of it, and most servers are not on official — the calculator at the top of this tab takes your rates, a Sanguine Elixir, and every other food this creature will eat.

Effectiveness is what decides the bonus levels: every unit of food eaten costs a slice of it, so the food that needs the fewest units finishes at the highest level. That is why kibble is worth the trouble — not that it is much faster, but that it is fewer feedings.

Torpor drains at 0.208 per second while it is unconscious, so on a long tame you will need Narcotic to keep it down. The calculator works out how much.

When the Oviraptor is wandering reduces the egg production interval of allied females nearby from 17 minutes to 11 minutes.

  • Egg Collector:

The Oviraptor can collect eggs in two different ways depending on whether the egg was from a wild creature or an allied tame. Wild: When the Oviraptor passes near a wild egg, it will pick it up with its claws without angering the owner of the egg. However, the following eggs cannot be picked up automatically:<!-- Allied: The Oviraptor automatically collects all eggs within a certain range (in a square) around its body.<!-- -->The range only scales with the overall creature level, using the formula (result is in meters): <!-- -->5 + (90 - 5) \times \sqrt{1.0 - min(1.0, \frac{min(DinoLevel, \frac{Difficulty \times 400}{5})}{\frac{Difficulty \times 400}{5} - 1.0})}<!-- -->The maximum range is 90 meters (28.125 foundations) and the level required to reach it depends on the difficulty settings (at difficulty 5 it's level 400, at difficulty 1 it's level 79). The collection range around the oviraptor is a square that's centered slightly in front of its head. This square aligns to the map, not to the dino.
