How You Get One

method, in order
Special Not tamed in the wild. A tamed Veilwyn evolves into one when force-fed Pristine Vulpite, earned by matching a wild Solwyn's requested emotes.

Quirks

  • To acquire a Solwyn, you must evolve a Veilwyn using Pristine Vulpite, which can be acquired from a wild Solwyn. 1. Put a tamed Veilwyn in Companion Mode. 2. Find a wild Solwyn. 3. You'll see icons above the Solwyn indicating which emote it requests. 4. Use your Veilwyn to perform the requested emote. 5. Repeat this process 10 times to reach 100%. 6. Approach the Solwyn and claim the Pristine Vulpite. 7. While in Companion Mode, kill enough creatures with your Veilwyn to increase its "Adventure!" buff to 100%. (You can see your progress by selecting "Show Buffs" in their inventory.) 8. Once at 100%, force feed it the Pristine Vulpite and it will evolve into a Solwyn.

Torpor

  • This creature is torpor-immune to conventional tranquilisers. Darts, arrows and Narcotics will not drop it, so the torpor figures elsewhere on this page describe its stat, not a route to taming it.

Holding it still

Built trapNo bola-type item holds this one — build a trap instead: stone or metal dinosaur gateways in a box or semicircle, lure it in, close the last gate behind it.

Nothing throwable immobilizes a Solwyn.

Tame Guide

traps, methods & egg runs

Solwyn are not tameable by default, but instead are evolved from Veilwyn using Pristine Vulpite.

When the companion Veilwyn's current buff "Adventure!" reaches 100%, it can be forcefed with Vulpite, which causes it to disappear into the warp and come out as Solwyn.

Upon collecting Pristine Vulpite, you receive the Solwyn's Favour buff, which prevents interaction with Solwyns for an hour (by default).

It may be a good idea to trap a max-level Solwyn so you can repeatedly farm Pristine Vulpite from it without risk of it dying.

Beyond getting higher Vulpite quality, wild Solwyn level doesn't matter at all, meaning each tier quality reach the exact same evolution, despite Solwyn's levels inside that particular tier.

Bear in mind an journeman or higher evolved Veilwyn will retain its base level plus any post tame levels you applied to it and some of the experience it had left to spend before evolving, meaning the evolution process will not alter (boost or diminish) neither wild levels nor bonus taming levels nor tamed levels. For example, if you max out tamed levels for your Velwyn before evolving it, your Solwyn won't be able to level any further.

Lower tier Vulpite might diminish its base stats, Primitive transfer 25% of stats, both base and leveled, Ramshachakle transfer 50% and Apprentice transfer 75%.
