The Island's true final boss, and the only one that is not summoned at an obelisk. You reach it by walking the Tek Cave and using the Ascension Panel at the end.
It has no artifact cost. It costs the trophies of the three bosses you already beat.
It begins the fight by activating a shield that makes it invulnerable, and it takes this time to spawn Attack Drones and Defense Units. After doing this its shield drops and it stays still for a short period, allowing it to be damaged, before proceeding into a roaming phase where it fires sweeping beams that stun targets, and dismounts survivors from most tames (with a few exceptions). Pillars in the arena can be used to avoid the beams, but you will inevitably be hit sooner or later. The Overseer can be damaged in its roaming phase, but moves so quickly most tames cannot keep pace with it, not without significant investment in the Movement Speed stat.
Clearing out the Defense Units (the Attack Drones can be ignored) the Overseer spawned will make it reset its roaming phase after a short period, and returns it to its shielded stationary phase, where it will spawn more units, drop its shield, stay still and vulnerable for a few moments, then resume its roaming phase. On losing 25% of its total health, the Overseer will change forms periodically to one of the three Guardians; the
Megapithecus, the
Broodmother or
Dragon, and is guaranteed to transform each time it loses 25% health. Each of its guardian forms are treated as a miniboss with their own full health bar, and need to be completely destroyed before the Overseer will reset to its original form, health bar progress, and phases. Around 10% health it will change form into a randomly selected miniboss one more time, but thankfully with an already mostly-depleted health bar. On average it will change form 4 times before finally being defeated.
The Overseer's death will trigger Ascension after a short time lapse, which frequently causes the loss of worn equipment and Survivor inventories. During this brief window, you will want to stash anything you might be carrying (including the element you might have picked up from destroyed minions), and transfer it all into a tamed creature's inventory. When Ascension triggers, your tamed creatures will (in most cases) be safely transported back to the entrance of the Tek Cave, allowing you to retrieve your gear and spoils afterwards. While you do this, warning: the Overseer's arena is extremely cold, be sure you have the health, or other means, to survive the brief time you will be naked before Ascension happens. If you do not and you die before Ascension, you will lose everything: including any tames you might have brought in with you. There are also occasional issues Ascending while mounted, so be sure that you are dismounted as well beforehand.
You fight in what can be described as rounds, you will need to try to attack the Overseer while defending yourself (and your dinosaurs) from the Attack Drones and Defense Units, while you attack the Overseer it will change form into different Bosses while it loses health until it's destroyed.
The Overseer is one of the more formidable Bosses in ARK. The Player enters its Arena handicapped after being weakened by the journey through the Tek Cave. The Overseer has a total of four forms with separate health meters, and it constantly summons Defense Units and Attack Drones. The minions drop
Element upon death which can be helpful to players using Tek during the Boss fight. Any Element collected during the fight will disintegrate afterwards when the player Ascends.
The Overseer's main form resembles a
Specimen Implant. When it morphs into this form, it brings up an energy shield that lasts for a few seconds and blocks all damage. It also has an area-of-effect laser attack that is deployed in a bottom-to-top "orbital" fashion, making it very difficult to avoid. Lastly and most notably, the Overseer likes to employ a shock/stun-lock and dismounting ability.
The Overseer's other three forms are Tek-energy clones of the Island's three Guardians: Megapithecus, Dragon, and Broodmother Lysrix. Each of these forms displays characteristics and attacks of the original. For instance, the Megapithecus throws energy boulders while the Dragon breathes fire. The Overseer does not have every attack, however; every boss form is unable to spawn its corresponding minions, and the Dragon form cannot fly upwards.
• If you don't deal with the attack and defense drones, they will overwhelm you - don't just focus on the boss.
• Watch for the Overseers Stun attack especially if you're getting overwhelmed as suggested above since the stun will dismount you.
• Be mindful of the boss forms the Overseer shifts into.
• The biggest thing to worry about is the Overseers Boss forms due to its instakill bite attack on players and the Dragon's fire attack dealing more damage to carnivores.
• Humans are next to helpless when dismounted, so make sure to be mounted unless confident you won't be struck upon.
Because it transforms into different bosses, you can use the strategies you used on those bosses again for the boss that the Overseer becomes, albeit difficult.
The four large pillars you find in the arena can be used as a shield from the Overseer's dismounting stun lasers, since they cannot pass through terrain.

Tek Cave entrance at 42.8 / 39.2 on The Island. The door stays open for 5 minutes once activated, the run then has 60 minutes to reach and start the boss fight, and at most 50 creatures may enter.
No loot — its death triggers Ascension after a short time lapse, and worn equipment and inventories are frequently lost in the transition.
