How You Get One

this creature is not tamed
Egg only Cannot be tamed. Beat the Lost King on Lost Colony, claim a Gigadesmodus Egg from the boss rewards, and raise the baby.

Step by step

  1. Unlock and beat the Lost King, Lost Colony's boss. Any difficulty you can clear — the egg is a reward for the kill.
  2. Claim the Gigadesmodus Egg from the reward set after the fight.
  3. Incubate it, hatch it, and raise the baby. The temperature band and maturation time are on the Breeding tab.

Also true

  • Wild adults stay untameable no matter what you do to them — the egg is the only route, so tranquilisers on a wild one are wasted.
  • Because it hatches rather than tames, there is no taming effectiveness and no bonus levels. What you raise is what the egg was.

Torpor

  • This creature is torpor-immune to conventional tranquilisers. Darts, arrows and Narcotics will not drop it, so the torpor figures elsewhere on this page describe its stat, not a route to taming it.

Holding it still

Built trapNo bola-type item holds this one — build a trap instead: stone or metal dinosaur gateways in a box or semicircle, lure it in, close the last gate behind it.

Nothing throwable immobilizes a Gigadesmodus.

Tame Guide

traps, methods & egg runs

Gigadesmodus do not exist in the wild. They are solely obtainable as fertilized egg sac by defeating the Lost King and Lost Queen, which much be hatched and raised to adulthood. The egg sac is of a random level, and all surviving players in the mission receive just one each.

(However, If spawning a wild Gigadesmodus with commands or using spawn ini to give them spawn regions, Gigadesmodus can be KO tamed and prefer the same foods as the Rex)

Everything it does is built around blood. It heals off the damage it deals, it spends its own health as ammunition, and it finishes wounded targets outright. It takes a platform saddle, so it doubles as a mobile base.

Attacks
  • Bite Left click

The main attack, and the one you will use most. Fast enough to chain.

    150 damage · 0.67s cooldown
  • Blood Spit

Fires Red Element-infused blood as a projectile. It costs its own HP per shot — the trade is heavy torpor on the target and a grounding effect that forces enemy flyers to land.

49 damage per projectile · costs its own health
  • Execution

A tail attack that only lands on a target already below 10% health, and kills it outright. Connecting grants a 25% damage buff for 20 seconds, so it is worth setting up in a long fight.

10% of target health · target must be under 10% HP · +25% damage for 20s
  • Grab

Picks up creatures and carries them, as its smaller Desmodus cousin does — at a size that lets it take far heavier things.

Passives
  • Blood Sustenance

It heals for 15% of all damage it deals, and you heal for 5% while riding. This is why it survives fights its health pool says it should not.

    15% lifesteal · 5% to the rider
  • Neophyte Killer

Ignores Neophyte damage resistance completely — the reason it is the answer to Lost Colony's own enemies specifically.

  • Nocturnal Hunter

25% faster flight at night. Plan long trips after dark.

    +25% flight speed at night
  • Echolocation

Reveals nearby creatures the way a Desmodus does, and it can fly inside caves — a combination almost nothing else on any map has.

Movement & utility
  • Land / Descend

Explicit land and descend controls rather than only altitude drift, which is what makes cave flying practical.

  • Platform saddle

Takes a platform saddle, so it carries structures. A flying base that heals itself off what it kills.
